Lemlist review: excellent at email, adequate at LinkedIn

Lemlist is one of the best cold email platforms available. Its LinkedIn features exist to support the email, not the other way round, and that tells you who should buy it.

In short: Lemlist is a top-tier cold email platform with strong deliverability tooling, a huge template library and LinkedIn steps bolted onto its sequences. If email is your main channel and LinkedIn is a supporting touch, buy it. If LinkedIn is the main channel, buy a LinkedIn-first tool.

Disclosure: we build Prospectio, which is LinkedIn-first with email steps, so the mirror image of this product.

What Lemlist is

A multichannel sales engagement platform that started in cold email in 2018 and added LinkedIn and calling steps over time. It’s a well-funded, well-marketed product with one of the largest content operations in the category.

What it does well

Deliverability. This is the reason people choose Lemlist. Between lemwarm, sending-domain management, spintax and inbox rotation, it takes the unglamorous part of cold email seriously. Most tools treat deliverability as someone else’s problem.

Personalisation at the email layer. Dynamic images, custom landing pages, video thumbnails, liquid syntax conditionals. If the email needs to feel handmade at volume, the tooling is there.

Template library and community. Thousands of shared sequences and a large user community. If you don’t know what to write, you’re not starting from a blank page.

Multichannel logic. Email, LinkedIn and call tasks in one sequence with conditions. Useful when your motion spans channels.

Where it’s weaker

LinkedIn depth. The LinkedIn steps work, but the safety infrastructure, limit management and account-health thinking aren’t at the level of a dedicated LinkedIn tool. If LinkedIn is where your pipeline comes from, that gap matters.

No prospect qualification. Like most of the category, it sends to the list you give it.

Complexity and price. Lots of features, several tiers, and the good multichannel stuff sits on the upper plans. Small teams can end up paying for a platform when they needed a tool.

Who should buy Lemlist

  • Teams whose primary channel is cold email, with LinkedIn as a supporting touch.
  • Anyone fighting deliverability problems.
  • Sales teams who want one platform for email, LinkedIn and call tasks.

Who shouldn’t

  • LinkedIn-first teams. You’ll be running your most important channel through the least developed part of the product.
  • Solo founders who need one thing done well rather than twelve things available.

The verdict

Good software aimed at a different problem than ours. Pick it if your sequence starts with an email.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lemlist good for LinkedIn outreach?

It's competent. You can add LinkedIn visit, connect and message steps to a sequence. But the product's centre of gravity is email, and a LinkedIn-first tool will give you more control over the LinkedIn part.

What is lemwarm?

Lemlist's email warm-up product, which gradually builds sending reputation on a new domain or mailbox so messages land in the inbox rather than spam. It's one of the better ones and a real reason to choose Lemlist.

How much does Lemlist cost?

Several tiers priced per user per month, with the multichannel and LinkedIn features on the higher plans. Check lemlist.com for current numbers.
