ICP fit scorer

Most outbound fails at the list, not the message. Score a segment before you build it, using measured rates from 389,890 prospects across 41 programmes.

In short: targeting explained more of the variance in our tests than any copy decision. Broad job-title targeting replied at 13.0 percent. The same sequence sent to a verified ICP with a subject-matter match replied at 51.9 percent. Score the segment first.

Why signal quality beats seniority

The instinct is to pick the most senior person who could plausibly buy. The data says otherwise. Directors and above replied at 32.0 percent and booked meetings at 2.2 percent. Managers and below replied at 26.0 percent and booked at 4.4 percent, twice the rate. Seniority buys you a reply. It does not buy you a meeting, because the person at the top delegates the problem to the person one rung down.

The exception is companies under about 50 people, where the founder is also the operator. There the pattern inverts and you should go straight to the top, which is why the scorer weights small-company founders so highly.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ICP fit score?

A single number that says how likely a defined segment is to reply and book, relative to everything else you could target. This scorer builds it from four measured inputs: persona, company size, region, and the quality of the signal you have on the individual prospect. Signal quality matters most. A verified subject-matter match replied at 51.9 percent against 13.0 percent for job-title targeting on an otherwise identical sequence.

Which persona is the best target for B2B outbound?

On raw reply rate, founders and CEOs at 41.2 percent. On the balance of meeting rate and deal size, solution architects and heads of engineering are the sweet spot: 5.9 and 5.6 percent meeting rates with average deal sizes of €47,200 and €41,200. They sit one rung below the decision maker, which is where meetings actually get booked.

Should I target small companies or enterprise?

Depends what you are measured on. Companies of 10 to 50 people replied at 38.4 percent and booked at 6.1 percent, with an average deal of €11,200. Companies over 2,000 replied at 26.8 percent and booked at 3.5 percent, with an average deal of €102,000. Enterprise is quieter and slower and worth roughly nine times more per deal.

How much does a shared connection help?

Naming a shared colleague lifted reply rate from 27.0 to 35.1 percent across 7,340 prospects, about 30 percent, and it was strongest where the named person was in the same function as the prospect.
