What actually varies by region
Not much, and that is the finding. The mechanics held everywhere: a connection request beat InMail by ten times, question-led copy beat company-led copy by three times, 240 to 420 characters peaked at 38.6 percent, and replies answered inside 24 hours converted at 21.4 percent against 3.6 percent after 48 hours. None of that changed by market.
What changed was register and pace.
DACH needs a formal tone. The casual opener that works in the UK and the Nordics costs replies there, and voice notes underperformed, which is the one place in the dataset where a format that worked elsewhere did not carry.
France needs the message written in French by someone who speaks it, and a longer runway between first reply and first meeting. The 24-hour response rule matters more there precisely because the cycle is slower.
The US is the most saturated market in the set. Buyers have seen every sequence structure and every personalisation token, so volume plays fail and precision works. Naming the prospect’s own product or a competitor, which doubled reply rate across the dataset, matters more there than anywhere.
A note on the US pivot
This comes up constantly with European founders, so it is worth stating plainly. On our numbers the US West Coast is the hardest of the nine markets we sell into and the UK and Ireland is the easiest, with a reply rate 7.5 points higher and a meeting rate 1.4 points higher.
That is not an argument against selling into the US. It is an argument against learning there. The market that teaches you the fastest is the one where replies come quickest and cycles are shortest, and for a European company that is the home market.
