This is meeting rate, not reply rate. It counts a meeting from the point it was accepted in the client’s calendar, which is why it is a much smaller number than the reply-rate benchmarks published elsewhere in this category. Reply rate is a leading indicator. Meeting rate is the decision.

What the data says

Analytics software books at 4.6 percent across 3,760 prospects, above the 3.9 percent average and on a modest sample.

The category has an unusual property: the buyer is professionally sceptical of numbers, which cuts both ways. Generic claims get discounted harder here than anywhere. A specific, sourced figure gets read more carefully than it would in any other category.

That points at an approach most vendors do not take. Lead with a number you can defend and a question about how they measure the thing today. Heads of RevOps, who carry the second highest deal size in our dataset at €51,900, are the natural entry point.

The spread from top to bottom is 5.5 against 3.5 percent, a factor of 1.6. Worth keeping in perspective: in the targeting test, the same sequence produced 13.0 and 51.9 percent reply rates depending only on how the list was built. Category matters less than how well you know the person you are writing to.

How this data was collected

3,760 prospects in this category, inside a dataset of 389,890 prospects and 15,018 meetings run for 17 clients across 41 programmes between 2018 and 2026. Prospects were split at random inside each client account for every controlled test, holding industry, geography, seniority and company size constant on both sides, and no test was called below 2,000 prospects per arm.

One thing to hold in mind. The category is the seller’s, not the prospect’s: it describes what our client sells rather than what the person receiving the message does. The breakdowns by who was contacted are on the persona, company size and region pages.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good meeting rate for analytics software outbound?

4.6% in our dataset, from 3,760 prospects contacted, which ranks 6th of twelve categories. The cross-category average is 3.9%. Note that this is meeting rate, not reply rate: it counts meetings accepted in the client's calendar, so it is a much smaller number than the reply figures most benchmark reports publish.

Does cold outreach work for analytics software?

It produced 46 meetings per thousand prospects contacted across 3,760 prospects in our programmes. Whether that works for you depends on your deal size: at a €20,000 average deal that is €920,000 of pipeline per thousand contacted, and at €80,000 it is four times that.

Is this the buyer's industry or the seller's?

The seller's. These categories describe what our clients sell, not what their prospects do. If you want the breakdown by who is being contacted, the persona, company size and region pages carry that.

How was this measured?

From 3,760 prospects in this category inside a dataset of 389,890 prospects and 15,018 meetings across 41 client programmes and 17 clients between 2018 and 2026. A meeting counts when it was accepted in the client's calendar.
